One applicant will be selected to aid the Journal in important summer tasks. As compensation, The Americas will cover the Associate's costs to attend the January meeting of the Journal at the AHA (up to $1,000). For Summer 2018, the Graduate Editorial Associate will develop at least one thematic cluster of articles and research notes published over the years in The Americas, with supplemental online digital primary sources, that will be made available to college professors and students to aid in the teaching of Latin American history. This work does not require a presence in the journal's Philadelphia offices.
All applicants are asked to submit letter of interest, including a proposed thematic cluster(s), a current c.v., and a letter of support from a faculty adviser. Graduate students in the field of Latin American History are preferred. The Associate selected for Summer 2018 will be expected to work on this project over the course of the summer in consultation with an editorial board member or other faculty adviser. The Associate will submit the cluster resource by the end of August and will be invited to participate in The Americas meetings held during the AHA/CLAH conference in January 2019 (that meeting will be located in Chicago, IL).
Submit application by July 15, 2018 to:
