Nous allons exposer dans les pages qui suivent, d'une manière schématique, quelques considérations à propos de deux récits mythologiques des Campa de la forêt centrale du Pérou. On peut classer les versions que nous allons analyser dans la catégorie des récits cosmogoniques ; cependant nous croyons qu'il s'agit de fragments de deux mythes d'origines qui, bien que provenant d'une même aire culturelle — Campa —, concernent aussi d'autres zones géographicoculturelles éloignées. Il serait faux, en effet, de supposer qu'il existe une totale uniformité dans les expressions culturelles d'une société comme celle des Campa, dispersée dans une région de plus de cent mille km2.

Two cosmogonie myths of the Campa ethnie group of the Peruvian tropical rain forest are analyzed with respect to their structural components in order to detect the axiologic System which they express in a symbolic manner. The System of normative values is a key element for the understanding of the existential conception of this Indian group. Both mythological versions show an aspect of the Campa « ideology » which is strongly connected with a determined mode of social behavior of the group facing the new historical situation derived from the expansion of the Peruvian national society and the invasion of the tribal territory.
