Latin America is both a test field for and a source of global business and human rights standards. The Business and Human Rights Journal's Special Issue on Business and Human Rights in Latin America tries to capture that reality by looking at different topics and challenges that show the complex and nuanced realities of the region, including on foreign investment, food and beverage marketing, State-owned enterprises, the role of China (and Chinese companies) in the region, and the contributions of Latin American literature to business and human rights. Furthermore, other questions are equally explored, including sustainable public procurement, remedy in the context of transitional justice in Colombia, the Samarco litigation in Brazil, and the contributions of Latin American courts to the business and human rights debate. This webinar marks the launch of the Special Issue, and will provide an opportunity to discuss the role, contributions and challenges for Latin America in relation to business and human rights.
