Call for Reviewers: Translational Data-Centric Engineering in the Marine Sector
31 Mar 2022 to 31 May 2022

The peer-reviewed, open-access journal Data-Centric Engineering (Cambridge University Press) has issued a Call for Papers on Translational Data-Centric Engineering in the Marine Sector (deadline 1st September). This is a special issue of articles aimed at understanding how Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Data Analytics are unlocking new approaches in the marine industry to make it safer and more efficient.

To help us assess the papers, we are calling for reviewers in the knowledge that specific expertise of both data science technologies and the marine sector will be needed for a proper review process.

We therefore invite experts in the field to contact us to express their interest in reviewing the papers submitted to this special collection.

To acknowledge their contribution, reviewers will receive:

  • A reviewer certificate from Cambridge University Press;
  • A gift of Cambridge University Press books;
  • Thanks on the page dedicated to the special collection

Interested reviewers should email dce@cambridge.org by May 1st with the following information:

  • Their motivation in reviewing papers for the special collection;
  • A CV or list of their relevant work (projects, articles, experiences, etc.) or CV, and affiliation;
  • Their affiliation;
  • A Conflict of Interest statement

Conflicts of Interest

Interested reviewers provide a statement about situations that could be perceived to exert an undue influence on their ability to review articles that form part of this special collection. Conflicts of interest may be financial, professional, contractual or personal in nature. Declaring a conflict of interest does not necessarily invalidate reviewers from participating, but it will help the guest editors better understand how to use the expertise whilst maintaining an independent process.

Example wording: “Conflicts of Interest: I am employed at / own shares in / am the board of / have received grants from company X or organisation Y that has a commercial interest in this area.”
