An extensive study of herbarium specimens and literature of arborescent multiseed Junipers (Juniperus L. sect. Sabina (Mill.) Spach) from SW Asia and E Africa, in preparation of a monographic volume “Drawings and Descriptions of Cupressaceae”, has led to a substantially revised concept of taxa and their distribution. A total of 18 species and 7 varieties were previously recognized in this group; most turned out to be synonyms. J. foetidissima var. pindicola Formanek, J. macropoda Boiss., J. procera Hochst. ex Endl., J. sabinoides Griseb., J. schugnanica Komarov and J. semiglobosa Regel were lectotypified; J. polycarpos K. Koch has been neotypified. The following taxa answering to the above circumscription are here recognized for the area: J. excelsa M.-Bieb., J. excelsa subsp. polycarpos (K. Koch) Takhtajan, J. foetidissima Willd., J. semiglobosa Regel, J. phoenicea L. and J. procera Hochst. ex Endl.

A new variety of Agalmyla tuberculala Hook. f. is described; it extends the range of the species from Mt Kinabalu, Sabah, to Mt Murud, N Sarawak. Five new species and four new varieties of Cyrtandra are described from Mt Kinabalu; there are also two new species of Cyrtandra from Sarawak.

Manulea derustiana is newly described, and a ditypic genus, Reyemia, is described with a new species, R. chasmanthiflora, as its type, and Zaluzianskya nemesioides is transferred to it.

Lectotypes are provided for Sorbus microphylla Wenzig, S. ursina (G.Don) Schauer var. wenzigiana Schneider, S. arachnoidea Koehne and S. rufopilosa Schneider. Var. wenzigiana is transferred to S. foliolosa (Wallich) Spach var. wenzigiana (Schneider) Rushforth., comb. nov. A description of S. microphylla Wenzig. emend, is provided.

Dracaena fragrans (L.) Ker Gawler is revised, similar species are critically compared and several of them, notably D. deremensis Engl. and D. deisteliana Engl. are reduced into synonymy. A formal classification with standard specimens for cultivated material currently in commerce is proposed.

This study examines whether a satisfactory classification of Turkish Lathyrus species can be obtained from phenetic clustering based on external vegetative and floral morphological characters of herbarium specimens. Forty morphological characters for each species of the genus Lathyrus L. were scored and the data subjected to numerical taxonomic analyses. The results of this study suggest that there are basically nine sections (Orobus, Lathyrostylis, Aphaca, Nissolia, Orobon, Gorgonia, Clymenum, Cicercula and Lathyrus) which can be grouped under two subgenera, namely subgenus Lathyrus and subgenus Orobus, as far as the material belonging to 54 of the 58 species cited in Flora of Turkey allows. Sect. Gorgonia Dogan is described.

Fifteen boletes (Basidiomycotina) distributed in the following genera: Afroboletus (1), Aureoboletus (1), Boletellus (1), Gyroporus (2), Phlebopus (1), Phylloporus (1), Pulveroboletus (5), Suillus (1) Tuboseta (1), and Veloporphyrellus (1) are recorded from Zambia. Four of these collections cannot be assigned to any formerly documented stirps. Two new combinations are proposed and full descriptions of the other collections are given. Afroboletus azureotinctus and Veloporphyrellus africanus are described as new; Tuboseta brunneosetosa var. retipes is recorded from Cameroon & Zimbabwe in addition to Zambia.
