Cambridge University Press & Assessment and the Journal of Biosocial Science are pleased to announce that Dr Alejandra Núñez-de la Mora, Universidad Veracruzana, Mexico, has been appointed as the new Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Biosocial Science. Please find a message from Dr Núñez-de la Mora below:

The current, unprecedented times demand the constant generation of evidence to engage and confront the environmental and social crises that are shaping individuals’ and communities’ experience of the world. With this in mind, I am committed to working closely with the Editorial Board in identifying dynamic research areas in which a biosocial perspective can add much needed nuance and contribute a multidimensional perspective that informs and inspires appropriate and creative solutions, and improved interventions.

I am aware of the great responsibility of building on the legacy of an esteemed publication that has contributed scholarship uninterruptedly for over half a century, but also of the opportunity of shaping, together with the Editorial Board, the strategic direction of the JBS so it continues to thrive in a demanding academic publishing ecosystem while embracing transformative practices and guidelines to ensure fairer and equitable models of knowledge production and access so that knowledge can be used by communities for whom it is relevant.

I trust that with novel contributions from scholars from around the world and the expert support of the Cambridge University Press team, we can ensure the JBS continues to be a venue for publishing the foremost biosocial research. I look forward to the path ahead.

Sincerely,

Alejandra Núñez-de la Mora, PhD

Cambridge University Press & Assessment would again like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Professor Nick Mascie-Taylor and Caroline Edgely as previous Editor and Deputy Editor for their many years of commitment and dedication to JBS.
