Two Properties of Integers

In a recent competition (see M.R. 23 (1962), A1482) it was required to show that the set {2, 3, 4} has the property, here called Pv that every number x in (0, 1] (i.e. 0 < x ≤ 1) can be expressed in the form , where m1 is an integer and belongs to the set for all i.
