Zinc-oxide nano-garden

This zinc-oxide nano-garden was grown by electrochemical anodization of zinc for potential application in solar energy harvesting. The image was taken using a field-emission scanning electron microscope. The colors and artistic effects were added using Adobe Photoshop.

False-colored scanning electron microscope image of silver nano-wires spray-coated onto a silicon substrate. The silver nanowires were synthesized through a polyol process. Image obtained from the cleaved surface of a silicon substrate.
