1 But quadrupedale for quarta, p. 24, 23 (83 c 5 Burnet) is a glaring immendation. An obvious correction has been missed at 98 b 5 (ώγ oîδα), where ne in que nescio is mere scribal iteration. At 70 c 2 cuilibet (Bigwood) is preferable to the editor's cut.
2 Not so much because Aristippus as a translator might be expected to pay more attention to the text than a copyist as because it is a question of a single translator against the copyists of his Greek MS. and an indefinite number of its ancestors.
