The subject of Church Music is one on which a good deal has been written and much has been said in lectures and propaganda of various kinds; and one might well hesitate to tackle it again, for it is a subject that arouses no small amount of controversy among the advocates of different schools, while it yet remains to be shown that the opinions put forward even by the best authorities make very much practical difference in the actual results.
