In Our Own Backyards: Inquiry-based Learning and Institutional Collaboration at Two New England Colleges

Steven H. Corey

Associate professor of urban studies and director of the Commonwealth College honors program at Worcester State College in Worcester, MA. Prior to Worcester State, Dr. Corey taught at the University of Rhode Island, Yeshiva University, and New York University (where he earned his Ph.D. in American history). He is currently completing a book on the history and politics of solid waste management in New York City.
Mark T. Motte
Affiliation:
Associate professor of geography in the department of political science at Rhode Island College in Providence, RI. Dr. Motte earned his Ph.D. in city planning and urban policy development at Rutgers University, and has undertaken research and consultitative projects for an array of NGO's and government agencies in the fields of human services, education, and community development. He has published two articles on the redevelopment of Providence, RI and, with his colleague Dr. Francis Leazes, Jr., is completing a book on whether Providence truly is America's “21st Century Renaissance City.”
