Dr. Allison Hodge is a principal Fellow in the Cancer Epidemiology Division at the Cancer Council Victoria, Melbourne, Australia.  She is also an Associate Professor in the Centre for Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Melbourne School of Population and Global Health, University of Melbourne, Australia. She has received research support from the National Health and Medical Research Council. She reports no financial relationships in the form of consultancies or honoraria with any other organizations. She conducts research in the field of nutritional epidemiology, particularly in relation to cancer, diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Dr. Kaleab Baye is employed as Associate Professor of Nutrition at the Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. He is partly employed (honorary position) on grants from Bioversity International. He is the Director of the Center for Food Science and Nutrition and as such has a non-financial working relationship with food industries in Ethiopia. He has not received honoraria, travel or research grants from food industries. He is receiving research support from the Ethiopian Institute of Biotechnology, the French Research Institute for Sustainable Development (IRD), Nuffic (Netherlands), and the World Food Program. He undertakes consultancies with UN agencies, CGIAR centers, and FHI 360. He is serving on the Executive Committee of the World Public Health Nutrition Association. He is a founding member of the Ethiopian Young Academy of Sciences and a member of the Lancet commission on quality health systems. He reports no financial or non-financial relationships that can influence his work for PHN.

Dr. Mona Calvo is an Adjunct Research Professor in the Division of Nephrology, Department of Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, NYC. She accepted this position shortly after retiring from 29 years of service at the US FDA’s Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition in order to continue collaborative research on dietary factors influencing the management of renal disease. She graduated from the Nutritional Sciences doctoral program, University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, and gained post-doctoral training in Endocrinology at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. Her current and past research focus on the effects of diet on hormonal regulation of calcium, phosphorus and vitamin D, and their impact on bone and kidney disease are the topics of her peer-reviewed publications, government reports/guidelines, and regulations. Her FDA position as Expert Regulatory Review Scientist reflected her work responsibilities that included review and health effects evaluation of analytical, pre-clinical, and clinical data submitted in support of safety issues relating to the regulation of infant formulas, dietary supplements, medical foods, food fortification, food additives and health claims. She currently serves as an Associate Editor for Public Health Nutrition, Applied Physiology, Nutrition & Metabolism, and the International Journal of Environmental Research & Public Health.

Prof. Mieke Fabe is employed as a Chief Specialist Scientist in the Non-Communicable Diseases Research Unit at the South African Medical Research Council. She is an extra-ordinary professor at the Centre of Excellence for Nutrition at North-West University and the Department of Dietetics and Nutrition at the University of the Western Cape (both non-remunerated). She conducts research within the field of infant and child nutrition, dietary assessment and food-based interventions. She received research funding from Sight and Life, NRF Centre of Excellence for Food Security and South African Sugar Association. She is member of the Research Grant Panel of the South African Sugar Association (receives a honorarium), Deputy Editor for the South African Journal of Clinical Nutrition and Editorial Board member for Maternal and Child Nutrition.

Dr. William Johnson is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences, Loughborough University, United Kingdom. His research focuses on child growth and development, life course epidemiology, secular trends and cross-cohort methods, and longitudinal data analysis. He has received research support from the Medical Research Council, National Institutes for Health Research, British Academy, The Leverhulme Trust, Child Growth Foundation, and COSMED – The Metabolic Company. He reports no financial relationships in the form of consultancies or honoraria with any other organizations.

Dr Vandevijvere receives/received research support from the Health Research Council New Zealand, The Heart Foundation New Zealand, The International Development Research Centre, the Belgian Federal Public Service of Health, Food Chain Safety and Environment and the European Commission. She is a member of the leadership team of the International Network for Food and Obesity/NCDs Research, Monitoring and Action Support (INFORMAS), member of the Scientific and Technical Advisory Network of the World Obesity Federation and fellow for the Lancet Commission on Obesity. Dr Vandevijvere has non-financial professional relationships with businesses in regards to conducting the INFORMAS Business Impact Assessment on Obesity and Population Level Nutrition (BIA-Obesity). However, no funding is received from any of the supermarkets, food and beverage manufacturers or quick-service restaurants assessed as part of the BIA-Obesity. 

Dr. Christina Vogel is a Senior Research Fellow at the MRC Lifecourse Epidemiology Unit, University of Southampton. Her research is supported by funding from the UK National Institute for Health Research, Medical Research Council, Academy of Medical Sciences, Wellcome Trust and the Economic and Social Research Council. Christina was Treasurer of the World Public Health Nutrition Association from 2012-2017 and is a founding member of the Strategic Network for Obesity and the Preconception Partnership. As part of her research, Christina has a non-financial relationship with a food retail company, and maintains independence in evaluation activities to uphold the scientific integrity of her work.
