The great theme of the apostolic preaching in the Acts of the Apostles is ‘Jesus and the Resurrection’. The Resurrection also forms the climax of the creeds; and it has been taught as the end of man's salvation by the Church ever since, despite the threat of militant scepticism without and humanist rationalisation within.
