The History of Education Society (HES) is an international scholarly society focused on promoting and improving the teaching of the history of education in colleges and universities, encouraging scholarly research in the history of education, and advocating for the value of historical perspective in the making of educational policy. The HES convenes a three-day annual meeting in late October or early November to present and discuss scholarship, and in other ways advance the goals of the society. The History of Education Quarterly is the official journal of the HES.
The History of Education Quarterly, published continuously since 1960, is an international, peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to publishing high-quality scholarship on the history of education. The journal encourages submissions from a range of intersecting sub-fields in social, political, economic, intellectual, and cultural history.
