On page 12 of the article, the first sentence of the second paragraph contains the misprint ‘statues' instead of the correct ‘status’. The corrected version of the sentence should read as follows:

Larch, for Vitruvius, is an index of the unfinished status of the city of Rome and thus, Vitruvius implies, of the project of empire.
