Summary

This appendix lists international urban networks and websites that provide useful resources for those concerned with city and regional governance and city-to-city learning. The list, which is in alphabetical order, is not comprehensive. Rather it is intended to provide a starting point for the interested reader.

100 Resilient Cities

The Rockefeller Foundation launched the 100 Resilient Cities Challenge in 2013 to enable 100 cities to better address the increasing shocks and stresses of the 21st Century. Each successful applicant must commit to developing a citywide resilience plan. More: http://100resilientcities.rockefellerfoundation.org

C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group

First convened by London Mayor Ken Livingstone in 2005, the C40 Cities Climate Change Group is a network of some of the largest cities that are taking action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. More: http://www.c40.org

Cities Alliance: Cities without slums

Founded in 1999, the Cities Alliance is a global partnership for urban poverty reduction and the promotion of the role of cities in sustainable development. More: http://citiesalliance.org

Citiscope Global News

Launched in 2013 Citiscope is a global news resource for all those interested in city leadership and urban management. It uses the power of professional journalism to draw reader attention to factual accounts of innovation in cities across the world. More: http://www.citiscope.org

City Mayors: Running the world's cities

Established in 2003 the City Mayors Foundation is an international think tank dedicated to promoting strong and prosperous cities, as well as good local government. More: http://www.citymayors.com

CITYNET

Established in 1987, CITYNET promotes cooperative partnerships and links among cities in Asia and the Pacific in order to improve the sustainability of cities. More: http://citynet-ap.org

CLAIR – Council of Local Authorities for International Relations

Founded in 1988, the Council of Local Authorities for International Relations (CLAIR) is a network of Japanese cities and regions working together to promote global learning and partnerships, particularly around revitalization of local areas and solutions for low carbon and ageing societies. Commonwealth Local Government Forum (CLGF)

The Commonwealth Local Government Forum (CLGF) works to promote and strengthen local government across the Commonwealth. The Forum has more than 160 members in 40 Commonwealth countries. More: http://www.clgf.org.uk

DELGOSEA

Launched in 2010 DELGOSEA is a network of cities and municipalities in Southeast Asia set up to promote exchange of information on innovative approaches to democratic local governance.
