Summary

Extent 1. (1210–11)

Eleigh (Illeghe). Salomon de Illeghe, Roger Prior, Robert son of Hugh, Robert son of Adam, jurors (prepositi) say that there is to be had in the same vill in respect of assize rents each year £8 11s. 8¼d. at five terms. And 2 hens at Christmas. And they say that Robert de Turnham found nothing there in respect of stock neither in grain nor in utensils but the wardens of the manor recovered while he had custody 1 seam (summam) of wheat and 1½ seams of barley and 1 heap (hoppam) of the produce of the mill. And £2 11s. 6d. in respect of wood sold. And 15s. and 7d. in respect of hay sold. The same say that nothing else was found there on the aforesaid Tuesday.

Extent 2. Account of Deteriorations (c. 1213)

Extent 3. (Mid- to late-thirteenth century, probably c. 1250)

Extent of the manors of the lord prior and convent of the church of Christ, Canterbury, in the counties of Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk for a tenth of the lord King … Eleigh (Ylleghe). They say etc. that there is due here from assize rents in cash £8 9s. Also customs and works which are worth each year £4 10s. From heriots, reliefs and amercements of the court, 13s. From stock usually sold in the year with dairy, 12s. 4d. Also 1 water mill which is worth 15s. From the fruits of the garden and orchards (gardini et [h]ortorum), 6s. 8d. Also 1 dovecote which is worth 1s. 8d. Also 9 acres of mowing meadow which is worth £1 2s. 6d, price of an acre, 2s. 6d. Also 6 acres of pasture which is worth 3s., price of an acre, 6d. Also 4 acres of alder-holt which is worth 1s. Also 360 acres of arable land which is usually worth each year £9, price of an acre, 6d.
