Published online by Cambridge University Press: 31 August 2009
Summary
I am willing to subordinate my opinions to the well being, harmony, and success of the labor movement; I am willing to sacrifice myself upon the altar of any phase or action it may take for its advancement; I am willing to step aside if that will promote our cause; but I cannot and will not prove false to my convictions that the trade unions pure and simple are the natural organizations of the wage workers to secure their present and practical improvement and to achieve their final emancipation.
