MP A 46; Cadoux, JHS 1948, 113. The suggestion has been made (Knight, Studies 18ff; Bicknell, Studies 41 n.158; Pleket, Talanta 1972, 74ff.) that this man put Kleisthenes' proposals to the vote, being a possible supporter. This seems to me entirely contrary to Ath. Pol. 21.1.

Dion. AR 1.74.6; Ath. Pol. 21.1 gives this as the year of Kleisthenes' proposals; filiation from Ath. Pol. 20.1 and Her. 5.66.1. On the basis of Teisandros' name some have supposed a Philaid connexion: Hammond, CQ 1956, 127f.; Sealey, Essays 25; contra Lewis, Historia 1963, 25f. Bicknell, Historia 1974, 153, again restores the name Kimon son of Isagoras on an ostrakon; at Studies 86 he prefers to call Isagoras a Kimoneios. McCargar, Phoenix 1974, 275-81, unnecessarily supposes the archon to be distinct from Kleisthenes' opponent. See also Rhodes, Comm. 242ff. Isagoras' activities in this year, in which his position as archon could be relevant, are recorded by Her. 5.70ff.; Ath. Pol. 20.
