CREATIVE EDUCATION IN THE KNOWLEDGE SOCIETY

3.1.1. THE NATURE AND MANIFESTATION OF CREATIVITY

Creativity is reflected in myriad of human actions. Creativity refers to creative powers in relation to human ability and skills, ability to comprehend, reason and communicate. Creativity means that an individual is capable of coming up with numerous new ideas. A creative individual has creative abilities, awareness of own capabilities and creative courage. Today, the role of productive thinking is increasing, allowing active participation in the course of occurring changes. Every man is capable of creative behaviours. In the light of the above sense education should:

  1. – Promote sharing knowledge and skills, appreciation of cultural values,

  2. – Inspire creative attitude, openness, independent thinking, the ability to self-educate,

  3. – Support integration of the individual with the social, economic and cultural life of the community,

  4. – Awake in the individual the need and feel for beauty, unveiling the creative potential,

  5. – Sensitize individuals to values.

In the course of education the following skills should be developed:

  1. – skills to co-exist in the global community,

  2. – sensitize to tradition, discoveries and knowledge,

  3. – alternative ways of thinking and desire to shape the future,

  4. – skills to cooperate in dialogue,

  5. – independent thought and judgement, courage, openness to diversity,

  6. – idea of learning to live together,

  7. – educate for life,

  8. – empathy for other human beings.

The process of education in conditions of the knowledge society must be perceived in global perspective.
