About the series

Technological advancements have opened up new avenues for teaching and learning second languages, and technology features in many educational environments in various shapes and forms. 

This series aims to critically explore the impact of technology on the field of second language education, shed light on the practical applications of various digital tools, and provide guidance for both educators and learners in navigating this dynamic landscape. It offers comprehensive coverage of technological advancements, insights into their potential benefits and drawbacks, and practical examples of how these innovations can be incorporated into language instruction. Its objectives are threefold: addressing the growing need for resources that bridge the gap between traditional language learning methods and the contemporary digital tools available to educators and learners; helping educators make informed decisions about how best to integrate technology into their language teaching practices; and contributing to the development of new, innovative approaches to second language instruction through showcasing examples of successful technology integration and encouraging readers to reflect on their own practices. 

About the editors

Glenn Stockwell has published several books exploring the use of technology in second language teaching and learning. He is Editor-in-Chief of Computer Assisted Language Learning and the Australian Journal of Applied Linguistics. He is interested in how technology shapes the learning environment from both teacher and learner perspectives. 

       

Yijen Wang has published numerous research articles and book chapters in the field of technology and language education, specifically looking at learner and teacher motivation and the development of autonomy. She is currently Editor-in-Chief of Technology in Language Teaching & Learning and regularly reviews for multiple journals in the field.
