Books

Books published for our society partners are selected and vetted by the society, with reviews submitted to the Press Syndicate. Books published for our society partners are given the same high quality production as our own publications, and are published throughout the world in print and electronic formats as appropriate.

In most cases and always where appropriate, society volumes are included in our ebook sales packages. These are available to libraries and consortia groups, and are marketed alongside our own publications in relevant subject areas. Open access options can also be made available to authors if desirable.

Society monographs and edited volumes are copyedited and typeset by the Press with all XML files and metadata for digital publication. All ebooks are included in our normal feeds to libraries, indexes, ebook vendors, and databases as appropriate. If it is suitable, initial print runs and reprints can be handled through manufacture on demand (MOD) printing, which allows books to remain available in print formats indefinitely.

Cambridge publishes numerous book series on behalf of societies with whom we have journal publishing partnerships, including:

  • the International Astronomical Union
  • the Classical Association
  • the Royal Historical Society
  • the International Africa Institute
  • the Australian Mathematical Society
  • the London Mathematical Society
  • the Society for New Testament Studies
  • the Association for Symbolic Logic
