Elements in Dynamical Systems provides a forum for extended articles on both pure and applied nonlinear dynamical systems research, relevant to a broad and multi-disciplinary readership from physics, mathematics, biology, and engineering. The series is loosely structured around the annual Dynamics Days Europe conference and draws content both from plenary speakers and from leading researchers further afield. Key topics covered include:

  • Chaotic systems
  • Complex systems and Network theory
  • Bifurcation theory
  • Ergodic theory
  • Fluid dynamics
  • Numerical analysis methods for dynamical systems
  • Stochastic processes
  • Non-equilibrium statistical physics
  • Pattern formation
  • Environmental Dynamics and Ecology
  • Neuro-dynamics
  • Time series analysis
  • Machine Learning for Dynamical Systems

About the Editors:

Julyan Cartwright is Professor in Physics at the University of Granada, CSIC. His research is devoted to fundamental aspects of the theory of dynamical systems and the understanding of the phenomena that spring from it such as chaos, pattern formation, and complexity. He is the Chair of the International Advisory Committee of Dynamics Days Europe.

Eckehard Schöll is Professor of Theoretical Physics at TU Berlin. His research is focused on nonlinear dynamical systems and complex networks, in particular pattern formation, chaos, noise, nonlinear dynamics and control of networks, applications to neural systems, power grids, lasers, and semiconductor nanostructures. He has been a member of the International Advisory Committee of Dynamics Days Europe since 2005 and was Chair of the committee from 2016-2018.

Constantinos Siettos is Associate Professor of Mathematics at the University of Naples Federico II. His research is focused on the modeling, numerical analysis, and the development of physics informed machine learning methods for complex and multi-scale dynamical systems. He is the Chair elect of the International Advisory Committee of the Dynamics Days Europe.
