Counter-roll of John of Broughton, controller of the king's works at the palace of Westminster and the Tower of London, for his expenditure on building works at Westminster. The entries cover a period between 15 Dec. 1337 and 18 Aug. 1338.

Physical description: A roll of four membranes, sewn end-to-end; a bit soiled, especially on m. 1, but otherwise in good condition and wholly legible. With no heading at the beginning and no sum total at the end, the roll is clearly incomplete. The heading on m. 1d, acting as a label, states that it is John of Broughton's roll, relating to the palace, for year 12 Edward III, ending at Michaelmas 1338.
