Summary

Neurocysticercosis (NNC) is caused by the larval form of the pork tapeworm Taenia solium and is the most common parasitic infection of the CNS worldwide. Taenia in particular is commonly endemic to Central and South America, India, Sub-Saharan Africa, and East Asia, and infections have become more common with the expansion of travel and immigration.
