EPὉ τ‹οι›αύτας ὥς ἐ‹στ›ι θείας θεωρ‹ί›ας ἀν‹η›γμένως νοήσας, ‹νοήσει› τòν θεòν λóγον εἶναι τò ἄλφα‹,› ἀρχὴν καὶ αἰτίαν τῶν ἁπάντων‹,› πρῶτóν τε οὐ χρóνῳ, ἀλλὰ τιμῇ· αὐτῷ γὰρ προσφέρεται δóξα καὶ τιμὴ ὅτι ἐπί συντελ‹ε›ίᾳ τῶν αἰώνων ὡς τέλος ἐπάγων τοῖς παρ᾽ αὐτοῦ γινομένοις ‹τò› ω εἶναι εἴρηται. καὶ πρῶτος καὶ ἔσχατος πάλιν οὐ κατὰ χρóνον, ἀλλ᾽ ὡς ἀρχὴν καὶ τέλος 249vἐπάγων· τὰ γὰρ ἄκρα τῶν στοιχείων ὡς ἀρχὴ καὶ τέλος ἐλήφθησαν καὶ | τὰ ἄλλα μέσα περιέχοντα‹.› ἀλλ᾽ οὕτως, ζωὴ ὢν κατὰ φύσιν, νεκρòς δι᾽ ἡμᾶς ἐγένετο·λύσας τὰς ὠδίνας τοῦ θανάτου‹.›ζῶν ἐστιν εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας· καὶ νεκρòς μὲν γεγονέναι ‹ὡ›μολóγησεν, ζωὴ δὲ οὐ γέγονε, ἀλλ᾽ εἶναι διεβεβαιώσατο λέγων· ὁ ζῶν καὶ ἐγενóμην νεκρòς καὶ ἰδοὺ ζῶν εἰμι· ὥστε τὴν νεκρóτητα διά τι ὑπομεῖναι‹,› τὴν δὲ ζωὴν ἀεὶ εἶναι ἑαυτòν ὡρίσατο‹.› ὁ ταῦτα μαθὼν τὰ γράμματα, τò Α φημὶ καὶ τò Ω‹,› οὐ τὰ αἰσθητά ‹,› ἀλλ᾽ ἅπερ γράφει τò πνεῦμα τò ἅγιον, οἶδεν ‹ὡς› αὐτòς ἀρχὴ τῶν ὅλων καὶ τέλος τῶν ἁπάντων‹,› κατ᾽ αὐτòν τòν θεολóγον ᾽Ιωάννην εἰπó‹ν›τα· ἐν ἀρχῇ ἦν ὁ λóγος, καὶ ὁ λóγος σὰρξ ἐγένετο‹·› αὐτοῦ γὰρ ἐνανθρωπήσαντος τò τέλος τῆς τῶν ὅλων σωτηρίας ἐγένετο.
