It is meant to serve as a convenient index of the variety of the archangel's roles in that body of literature. I have deliberately left out the medieval English materials since the organization of Part II is based on a full discussion of those roles. Cross-referencing titles of texts in this list with those in the “Inventory,” which has a fuller bibliographic apparatus, should facilitate sourcing materials mentioned in this list.
