Review process

Before submitting authors shoud ensure that they have carefully read and adhered to all the guidelines and instructions to authors. Manuscripts that do not conform to these guidelines will not be reviewed.

The Journal of East Asian Studies uses a double-anonymous review process, with each paper being peer reviewed by at least two reviewers. Neither author nor reviewers know the identity of each other.

After an editorial decision is made, an email containing the comments from the reviewers and the editor will be sent to the author.

Papers outside the journal’s scope will be rejected immediately.

Appeals

To appeal an editorial decision, contact the Editor and specify the reason for your appeal. Your appeal will be reviewed by the Editor together with another member of the editorial team who was not involved in the review of the manuscript. The final decision regarding your appeal will rest with the Editor.
