Some people even say we might need a third referendum. What they really mean is we should keep voting until they get the answer they want.

Summary

I love Brexit: I voted for it. My whole family voted for it. I was quite surprised, given they’re Scottish. People say, ‘Oh, but the EU funds this and funds that’, but where exactly do they think the EU gets the money to fund these things? It’s our money. If you give me £20 and I give you a tenner back, would you thank me?

My main reason for voting to leave was sovereignty – all these unelected politicians in Brussels need to bog off. You notice lots of failed and disgraced politicians seem to end up working for them. I think there’s no such thing as ‘soft Brexit’; there’s only Brexit or ‘hard Brexit’. Anything else is a con job. Same with this nonsense about having a second referendum – another con job.

Some people even say we might need a third referendum. What they really mean is we should keep voting until they get the answer they want. And of course they want to lower the age of voting as younger people are more likely to vote to remain. Well, they would be after they’ve been through our brainwashing education system.

I’d like to see us withdraw immediately. I don’t care about any deal they’re trying to hash out. To be honest, I very much doubt we will get a good deal anyway. Our so-called friends and partners in the EU certainly want to punish us for leaving. With friends like that, who needs enemies? I think there’ll be some pain economically, but that should sort itself out and eventually we’ll be a happier nation.

I’d been disillusioned with the EU for a good decade by the time of the referendum. I’d always told people they’d never give us a vote on our membership, as the British public would vote to leave. And when you think of how the establishment all came out in favour of remaining – the leaders from the three main political parties, the BBC, almost every newspaper – I think it’s astounding that Leave still won.

Living in London, I’ve experienced a lot of backlash for how I voted, but ultimately it’s my vote and I’ll use it how I want.
