Summary

1. Whether have you any ancient laws, statutes or ordinances in your church whereby the church is governed. Who is said to bee the 1st author or founder of them; what ancient booke, register or record have you of such orders whereby you know them; what is the number or body of such orders whereby they may bee known.

2. Whether doth every member of your church at his 1st admission sweare to observe such ancient statutes and ordinances of your church soe farre as they concern himselfe and his vocation in the same church.

3. What other benefice place preferment or living whereof a divine is capable, hath your dean, archdeacons, prebendaries, or other ecclesiasticall person of this church; besides their roomes and promotions already had in this church.

4. How are the 42, 43, 44 canons for the residence of the dean and prebendaries as well in the said cathedrall church as upon their benefice or benefices made in the convocation anno 1604 observed.

5. How often hath the dean preached in your cathedrall church or any other church of the diocese during the time of 6 or 7 years last past.

6. Whether hath every prebendary of your church preached in his own person once a year within your cathedrall church according to an ancient order written on a table and publickly set up in the church.

7. What advowsons of livings, hospitalis, parsonages impropriate and schooles have been granted since the time of the now dean, and whether are such advowsons comen into the hands of lay men, women or children, and, as you have heard or doe beleeve, are passed from hand to hand, and sold for money.

8. Whether as you have credibly heard or doe beleeve, is an advowson of the benefice of Amport passed or granted unto a layman for money; by whom is it soe passed or granted, unto what lay person and for what summe of money, as you know, have credibly heard or doe beleeve.

9. Whether was your now dean sometimes presented by the church and admitted unto the said benefice of Amport and upon what considerations hath hee resigned the said benefice, as you know, beleeve or have credibly heard.
