Summary

The just punishment of the Heavens has reached the One who out of pride and insolence has devastated the world with a godless hand and destroyed everything that is sacred as soon as his devastating and bloody plan encountered any resistance. The army that he led was twice destroyed by the sword of revenge, and the time has now come when one need only say the name of Napoleon in order to provoke the curses of several millions of his subjects, whose fate he sacrificed without hesitation in his ruinous plans.

Belgians! By all that is dear to you, you are the only people who still carry the yoke of the madman, whose pride and insolence have devastated the world. The only people, whose brothers, sons, and relatives he can rip unopposed from your arms in order to lead them to the slaughter house and allow them to perish in disgrace and misery, wherein his foolish anger will inevitably overthrow him. You are the only people, whose hopes of regaining your former prosperity and the vested wealth of your economy under a just and paternal government have not wavered. Do you still want to bear the chains of slavery? Should the example of your neighbors and friends, who again enjoy all the advantages of the beauty and glory of past ages, not inflame you to noble emulation?
