In the feast of all Saints, the Church reads a Gospel, which was the first that ever our Blessed Savior preached to the World. containing Marvellous Seeds of Happiness, and all the Blessings, which in this life we can hope for, or receive in the Next. The Doctrine of it is Diametricaly opposit to the Doctrine of the World. So that at the very first Instant they are listed Soldiers to fight under his Banner against the World.

He saith, Blessed are the Poor in Spirit,

Wheras the World Blesseth the Great and Lofty.

Blessed are they that Weep

Wheras the World Blesseth those that Laugh,

Blessed are thy that Hunger,

Wheras the World Blesseth those that are full.

Christ Blesseth the Pure ; The world Blesseth the Impure.

He the Mercifull : They the Unmercifull He the Peacemakers ; even those that will Contemn themselvs for the Peace of others : They the Self Ended, and those Who for their own Commodity are Breakers of the Peace, and even them that Prosper by setting the World on fire.

He Blesseth those that are Persecuted for Righteousness sake ; They those that liv at Eas, and flourish in Impietie.

He those that are reviled ; They those that are Exalted.

He those that are truly Blessed in the World to com, they those that are falsly Blessed in this World.

From hence we may learn in whose Schole we are, and to whose Jurisdiction we pertain.

For if we are in the Camp of Christ we are in the Schole of war. And must especialy fight against mens fals Opinions concerning Happiness. O Happy Christians if by our Habits, Countenances Lives and Words we could declare and Shew our selvs to be Christians indeed! Do we condemn the Infidels for not believing the Christian faith ; And yet liv our Selvs contrary therto?

Is there not Greater Iniquity in the World believing it, then in the World opposing it?

Do we Adore the Savior Crucified Naked Poor and Wounded ; And covet nevertheles to liv in Honor Wealth and Pleasure?
