Described Hardwick & Luard: iv.174.

[1]

A number of marginal inscriptions, by various hands. The earliest of these seem to be the inscriptions on f. 75v, bottom margin, by a large rough hand: ‘I desyer you to pray for the sowle of jhon albynge’ (s. xv?); f. 160, right margin: ‘I desier you to praye for the sowl off jhon hedgg I desyre you to pray for the …’, by a different (s. xv?) hand; on f. 320, bottom margin ‘I desir you to pray for the soul of jh[on] hegge’ (in crayon by a large very rough hand); and f. 155v: ‘This boke is the cherhe’, a clearer s. xv or s. xvi hand. On f. 76 a smaller s. xvi hand has written ‘I desyer you to prey’ at the top of the right margin, and a pen trial ‘I desier’ on f. 159v. On f. 160, right margin, the same hand has written ‘I desier you to prey for the solle of master hen pigat latteli dessesid in the parishe off thistilworthe and is buried in the curche of the sayd parishe at the hi alter on whose solle and alle christen jesu haue merci amen’; also f. 293v, top margin ‘Jesus merci’, s. xvi.
