The fyrste artycle of these twelue ys þat god ys oon substaunce and þre persones in hymselfe wythowten begynnynge and wythowten endynge and made all þyng of nought by hys worde þys poynt suffysyþ to lewyde peple to vndurstonde and beleue as hooly churche beleueth the ijde ys þat þe sone of god toke flesche and bloode …

‘Here suen þe xii articlis of þe beleeue’. The Twelve Articles of Faith or Apostles’ Creed extracted from chapter 13 of The Mirror of Holy Church or The Mirror of St Edmund (Speculum Ecclesie of Edmund of Abingdon). IPMEP 800; Wells Rev. 7:2510 [38] and 9:3460–62 [72].
