Wycliffite translation of Matthew's Gospel. Ends imperfectly. The translator's preface is on f. 4, followed by the prologue on ff. 4–8; the text of Matthew's gospel begins on f. 8. On f. 4, top margin, is the note: ‘a man of þe north cuntre drogh þis into englisch’. Commentary on Matthew's Gospel. Wells Rev. 2:545 [39]. Not listed by Lindberg, ‘Manuscripts’. See the discussion by Hudson, Selections pp. 411–4 and ‘Wycliffite Prose’, in Edwards (1984) pp. 249–70 (p. 255).

Other texts: BL Egerton 842 ff. 1–208v. Wells Rev. follows FM (I.ix–x) in linking this commentary to the shorter commentaries on Mark and Luke which survive in Camb. Corpus Christi Col 32, ff. 1–56v (Mark) and ff. 57–154v (Luke); on the latter see M. J. Powell, The Pauline Epistles, EETS es 116 (London, 1916) pp. ix–xvi. Doyle diss. i.128–30 and Hudson, Selections p. 411 dispute this link.

Inscription: ‘Matth. Saunders’ (f. 1).

s. xv1. LALME: LP 164, Nottinghamshire.
